One of the cultures from Annadelle’s sputum is growing and has been confirmed as Graham negative rods. I could be saying that incorrectly. The point is something is growing but they aren’t sure exactly what it is, just that it is probably normal flora that resides in our mouths and nose even when we aren’t sick.

Chris and I spoke with the attending about our concerns about getting yet another infection. We spoke to him about the possibility about transfer to another facility but didn’t get very far. He said he is going to speak with a Dr. Ness at UAB who is a specialist on transverse myelitis and that he will speak to her about what she thinks of a transfer.

We also contacted both UAB and Johns Hopkins ourselves. The person I spoke with at UAB was incredibly rude and repeatedly told me they don’t have a TM clinic at UAB. I told her I got the phone number from the TM website so obviously there was one, but she insisted it didn’t exist.

Chris had a slightly better experience when he called Johns Hopkins. He was told we couldn’t request the transfer, that our doctor would have to do it, but they would be happy to help us as much as they could.

I need all of our prayer warriors to gather together right now and pray that Annadelle’s condition doesn’t decline further. Please specifically pray that the plug in her lung gets better overnight and that we are able to extubate her within the next few days. Her spirits are very low and it is obvious she doesn’t feel good from the fever. I would also ask that you pray that her fever goes away with no more complications.
